Origami Whale

Get in touch with the gentle giants of the sea in this lesson where you will learn the art of paper folding to create a paper whale.

In this lesson, the students will learn to use paper folding techniques of Origami to make a whale. Students will learn to make precise folds to make a neat presentation.

  • Origami: the Japanese art of paper folding.
  • Crease: a line or ridge produced by folding.
  • Fold: bend over on itself so that one part of it covers another.
  • Dotted line: a line made up of dots or dashes.
  • Bottom: the lowest point or part of something.

The tutor must:

  1. Prepare the materials needed for the activity.
  2. Create their origami whale first to serve as an example for the students.

The tutor can begin by asking students if they like paper folding activities and what items can they make by folding paper.

Next, an introduction of the vocabulary words and their meanings should be given so that students can understand the instructions clearly.
